Traditional And Progressive Education Essays -

Traditional And Progressive Education The debate of Traditional vs. progressive education has been going on since the first school was built. Both sides has it's ups and downs, but I believe that the best form of education is progressive. Progressive education prepares us better for the real world. Progressive education, unlike traditional, lets the teachers reach the kids in the era. For example with progressive the instructors use real life situations teach the students, instead of from a textbook. With using real life examples the kids can relate and understand better than things coming out of a ten year old textbook. Therefore the pupils will be more attentive to what the teacher is saying. In addition in place of sixteen year old tests the students will be tested on information vital to the "real world". This will make your students more apt to make it in the world of work. Also then they will be able to make the right designs when the grow up. With all that said, progressive education clearly reaches out and teaches more kids. The education system should be progressive because it focuses on the freedom if the learner. For example instead of external disciple being used free activity is used. That drops the fear that the teacher can punish you for nothing more than looking at him/her funny. This also allows the pupil to see that something good comes from life instead of just punishment. In addition instead of being stuck use the same textbook, the same assignments, and the same texts teachers can makeup their up own and assignments. This allows the instructor to make it so the students he/she has can understand and find it interesting. This will help the students to learn more then they thought they could. Progressive education is the way to go for freedom of the leaner. Students no longer look at their teacher as a group of "know it all" who's only fun is to question little kids on stuff they do not know. For example through the traditional way of going teachers are the people with all the answers, the "All-knowing Beings of Greatness and Wisdom". This make the students resent the teachers and not want to comply with their directions. They also lose respect for the teacher and school in general. In addition through the progressive way the teachers seem more as some who guides you through the trouble times. This give the teacher back the respects of his/her pupils. This always the teacher to tell the student what to do and it will get done. With the traditional way of doing things teachers get no respect. The progressive way of education is the best. It helps the students learn and get help in the real world. Also it give the teachers a freedom to do what they want, instead of what a text books say.

Julius Cesar essays

Julius Cesar essays Julius Caesar is one of the most famous people in world history. He was a very interesting man. It was Caesar who changed the way that the Roman government worked. He was also a great warrior and claimed a great deal of land for the Roman Empire. Julius Caesar was born on July 12th or 13th in 100 B.C. His father died when he was 16 years old. Soon after this he was married. In 84 B.C. he married Cornelia, the daughter of Lucius Cornelius Cinna. In 82 B.C., after some troubled debates about his marriage to Cornelia, Caesar left Rome to spend time in the military service in Asia and Cicilia. He returned in 78 B.C. He soon left again and travelled to Rhodes to study. During his journey he was captured by pirates. While he was being held hostage he convinced these pirates to raise his ransom higher, which increased his importance to the Roman people. When he was returned to Rome in 73 B.C. he put together a small naval force and went out to find the pirates who captured him. When he found them he crucified them and left them to die in the hot Mediterranean sun. In 68 or 69 B.C., Caesar was elected quaestor. Soon after his wife died he married Pompeia, a relative of Pompey. From 65 B.C. to 62 B.C. he was elected to several different offices. Caesar was making a very big name for himself in politics and after a scandal he divorced Pompeia. In 61 B.C. Caesar was made governor of Spain. When he returned to Rome the next year he formed the first triumvirate with Crassus and Pompey. Pompey and Caesar became very close when Pompey married Caesars only child, Julia. In 59 B.C. he married Calpurnia. The following year he was appointed governor of Roman Gaul. During the next eight years Caesar successfully conquered Gaelic Gaul to the north. Following the death of Crassus, in 53 B.C., Roman politics changed ...

Motifs and Motives

Motifs and Motives Motifs and Motives Motifs and Motives By Mark Nichol The Latin term motus, meaning â€Å"a moving† or â€Å"motion,† is the progenitor of the Old French word motif, which survived unchanged into Modern French and was subsequently borrowed into English. Motif, in turn, inspired the English term motive and its variants. Here’s an introduction to the motif/motive family. Motif, employed in French to mean â€Å"theme† or â€Å"dominant feature,† was adopted into English to serve the same purpose, pertaining to a recurring idea in a literary work. The Germans borrowed it, too, attaching the native word leit (meaning â€Å"lead,† synonymous with primary) to it to describe an element in a musical composition associated with and characteristic of a person, place, or thing; the term was popularized by discussions of Wagner’s operas. The ever-welcoming English language included leitmotiv in its repertoire in the 1870s, a few decades after motif was adopted. However, motive, descended from the French term, dates from late medieval times and has spawned other words. Motive refers to an inward inclination to behave in a certain way or to take a specific action or course; it is less commonly employed as an adjective. (Interestingly, the connotation in a reference to someone’s motive for doing something is often a negative one; the word often implies scheming for selfish purposes.) Automotive (motive joined with the Greek prefix meaning â€Å"self†) was coined to refer to a theoretical flying vehicle in the mid-nineteenth century and later pertained to horseless carriages; locomotive was started out as an adjective in the early 1600s but became associated with railroad technology 200 hundred years later, first in the phrase â€Å"locomotive engine† and soon thereafter as a noun itself. Emotive began life as an adjective meaning â€Å"causing movement† and then acquired the connotation of â€Å"capable of emotion,† but its primary sense now, dating from early twentieth-century literary criticism, is â€Å"evoking emotions.† (The verb emote, meaning â€Å"to express emotions,† is a back-formation not from emotive but from the noun emotion.) To motivate is to inspire or prompt action; the noun form is motivation. Want to improve your English in five minutes a day? Sociology of the Family Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1750 words

Sociology of the Family - Essay Example The secondary stage of socialization usually takes place outside of the home, it can be at school, with peers or at a workplace - this is when most people begin will to socialize with people from different cultures (Laslett, 303). During this stage you may gain achieved roles such as getting a good job or becoming a mother/father and the changes in trends are recognized too from the jargon that is used, to the seasonal change in fashion trends. Norms are the things we are expected to do as they are regarded as being normal, values on the other hand are the principles we follow but we tend to take for granted e.g. writing. If a person breaks the norm then they are deviant and agencies of social control such as the police take over. These basic fundamentals are recognized by most people nowadays and explain why there arent as many cultural conflicts as there has been in the past. An example of cultural conflicts is during the early 19th century when White Americans came into contact with Native Americans - many conflicts and a few massacres had taken place simply because most of the White Americans were not willing to socialize and understand this Native culture (Kain, 955). A general perception of sociology is that it is the same as psychology. This is only correct to an extent, both the subjects are a part of social science and they look into the behavior of people (Bar-Yosef, 69). However, the difference is that psychology is the study of the mind and its mental states, whereas sociology looks at people on a broader scale, as it looks at the study of the structure and development of human societies. Today families are confronted with many problems. One issue is the imbalance in household and childcare labor done by men and women (Haralambous, 5). Another problem facing families today is the sharp rising in the number of elderly people. Changes to society may help fix some of these issues. Although society has made

Research three diverse faiths and compare the philosophy of providing Paper

Three diverse faiths and compare the philosophy of providing healh care from the perspective of each of these three faiths with that of the Christian perspective and your own personal perspective - Research Paper Example The only shortcoming here is that globalization has nurtured an overall society that is closely knit; meaning that the people that are likely to visit the facilities are from diverse cultures. Religion reveals much about one’s culture in many ways, and this fact will be utilized in this case in a clinical setting. The intent of this paper is to shed light on three religion in the context of health care provision. To what extent do these specific faiths affect how health care is provided to the people, and are they a manifestation of all other faiths. The significance of the Buddhist faith is paramount in this case because of one key factor; the massive following. A very large portion of the population of people of the Asian continent are devote followers of this faith. The religion was initially restricted within the Asian continent, but globalization has meant that its spread is anticipated. Clinical practitioners are in such a case expected to consider the individual cases of the Buddhist patients they offer their services to in the best way possible. The views held by some faiths differ from those of other, and this is a consideration that the health care providers have to mull over. Although it may be stated that most religions are based on foundations of fear of mishaps such as draught, floods, and so forth; Buddhism is claimed by many to be based on suffering. Fear is linked to external forces that one has no influence towards and hence people seek the help of Supreme intervention. Suffering is more specific in that it expound on all forms of difficulties experienced throughout the life of an individual. The argument here is that reality is within each individual, and cannot be found if one turns away as insinuated by faiths based on fear (Hirakawa, 2007). The faith emphasizes on the empowerment of each individual in ways to make them know that they have control of what happens in their lives (Hirakawa, 2007). The aim is to make

Rooftop Restaurant and Lounge is a sole-proprietorship business owned in majority by its founder and president Kevin Lentz. The owner is also personally responsible for all debts and liabilities incurred by the business. A sole proprietor can own the business for any duration of time and sell it when he or she sees fit. As owner, a sole proprietor can even pass a business down to his or her heirs. A sole proprietor has complete control and decision-making power over the business. A sole proprietor has minimal start up legal fees and NO corporate tax payments. Sole proprietors receive all income generated by the business to keep or reinvest. The owner pays taxes on income from the business as part of his or her personal income tax payments. All responsibilities and business decisions fall on the shoulders of the sole proprietor. The sole proprietor of the business can be held personally liable for the debts and obligations of the business. Additionally, this risk extends to any liabilities incurred as a result of acts committed by employees of the company. Most sole proprietors rely on loans and personal assets to initially finance their business. Rooftop Restaurant and Lounge will choose to incorporate once the business has started to grow. Chapter 4 Assuming Rooftop Restaurant and Lounge will have international operations: Rooftop Restaurant and Lounge will have a second location in Cancun, Mexico located in the heart of Cancun’s Hotel Zone. At this location Rooftop Restaurant and Lounge will have exquisite Mexican decor and outstanding Mexican cuisine. There are multitude of different kinds of organizational structures in international business for instance, one particular structure may require a substantially different plan of coordinating the activities of any given individual or organization. Independent Agent: An independent agent can be defined as an international individual or company who works with an exporter to represent the organization in question best interests in an international destination. Often these agents will take on the roles of being a sales representative. They offer the exporters goods, obtain payments by the purchaser, and as well work to ensure that the exporter’s clients are absolutely satisfied with the goods received. These agents will often have a wide variety of clients or firms who often do not specialize in any specified product or market. For example, Levi Strauss employs agents all across the world specifically in small countries found within these continents, South America, Africa, and Asia. Licensing arrangement: A licensing arrangement can be defined as an agreement in which an owner of a particular good will allow another company to manufacture sell and or market this good or service for a fee and or royalty. These companies will often grant interested parties or businesses in foreign destination exclusive rights to produce and or supply their goods in that particular market. The exporter will receive royalties as well any associated fees. These royalties will usually be determined as a percentage of the licensees total revenues. Branch offices: A branch office can be defined as a place in which an exporting company will establish themselves within a foreign nation in order to offer their products more effectively to that foreign market. In most cases exporting firms will just employ current top managers within their organization and will send these managers over to this foreign destination to establish a new branch office. This branch office will act to provide this organization with a greater public image. It is believed that consumers will feel more confident about any particular companys product or service. Strategic alliance: A strategic alliance is where a company in which two or more individuals or businesses will merge their resources together in order to tackle a specified, mutually beneficial project. Both parties will agree to participate equally in investing resources into this new venture thus forming the alliance. Out of all the International organizational structures to choose from, Rooftop Restaurant and Lounge in Cancun, Mexico will be a branch office. This business model is treated as an extension of its parent company which means that it should only conduct the activities performed by the main office in Orland Park, Illinois. Having a branch office provides several advantages to any foreign company including the ability to conduct business in Mexico, explore more business opportunities and directly interact with its local distributors and agents. While this business model has several advantages, foreign companies should realize that there are some arrangements and requirements that may not be beneficial on their part. For example, foreign companies do not enjoy limited liability which means that they are responsible for all the losses and debts of their branch office which is considered as their legal extension. Another disadvantage is that a branch office, being a non-resident business entity, is not eligible for local tax benefits and exemptions. Lastly, this business model is prohibited to engage in business activities that are not performed by its parent company. Chapter 5 Mission Statement: Rooftop Restaurant and Lounge is a business that envelopes fine dining of unique healthy taste and an excellent rooftop atmosphere. The mission is not only to have great tasting food, but have efficient and friendly service. Death In The Woods - Thematic Explication Essay -- essays research pap

Our universe is an ever-turning wheel that maintains a beautiful balance of life. On the spokes of this wheel the existence of all things is assured; life is given, bodies and souls are fed, each position on the wheel is cultivated by the next, and then one day we will pass away, only to start the circle again in another mysterious way. Take a moment to look around you and see the many cycles that exist for the sole purpose of keeping our wheel in motion, and then recognize how little these great givers of life are celebrated, or even noticed. Without a second thought we will all at one time or another dishonor the same things that pay tribute to us. But that, too, is a part of the cycle. It’s not good, nor is it bad. It just is. In his story â€Å"Death in the Woods,† Sherwood Anderson demonstrates mankind’s ability to take for granted the gifts received through our Mother Earth, aptly symbolized by an old woman with no name. He also reveals to his reader the beauty that lies within the ceremonies of life and death that are constantly taking place all around us and within us. The story is broken into 5 different parts, told in first person, and although the narrator is not the main character, he lends significant importance to the symbolism that takes place throughout the tale. In the first part of the story our nameless storyteller introduces his reader to an old woman; one that everyone sees, but nobody knows. Demonstrating society’s lack of concern for such an old woman, the narrator states, â€Å"People drive right down a road and never notice an old woman like that† (23). In this first section he uses the words ‘old woman’ eight times, and yet we know he considers her to be strong, not frail like the people that we usually associate with the condition of being aged. Our first clue of this takes place in the first and second paragraphs where she is diligently working to make a few eggs and hens trade into enough food to feed a farm. This is her job, and she does it without complaint. Somehow, she is able to make the impossible work. In the fifth paragraph he describes himself as â€Å"a young and sick boy with rheumatism† (23), and then in the next sentence depicts her carrying a heavy pack on her back- one that he coul d probably not manage on his own. In that pack on her back she carries the burden of feeding and caring for those that depend on her, and yet she ma... ...r shoulder. She is a young and innocent girl once again, and she is finally given her due respect in death. Unfortunately, when the weight of our burdens finally does our Mother Earth in, we won’t be able to mourn her and put her to rest with ceremony. Our own circle of life is far too dependent on hers. Most likely, the animals on the old woman’s farm will die within days of her passing, since there will no longer be anyone around to fulfill their needs. In the fifth and final part of the story the narrator recounts how the details all come together for him since the time of the old woman’s death. He slowly collects the pieces of information throughout his life in a quest to understand the meaning of it all. For some enlightened people, the search for understanding of our place in the universe is very much like that. We gather together the clues that our Mother leaves us and slowly come to respect the important nature of life and death. We begin to see the rituals, appreciate our roles and recognize the signs of our Mother’s wellness, or illness. The cycle of life and death is dependant on our cooperation, or lack thereof. We decide how much we want to invest into its abundance.

Area of Study †The Outsider Essay

How have the texts encountered in your studies enriched your understanding of The Outsider? â€Å"You don’t get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies. † An outsider is interpreted as someone who separates themselves from the rest of the society, intentionally or unintentionally. Sometimes, it is this outsider’s insecurities or physical appearance that contributes to this factor of their ‘isolation’. The play Othello by William Shakespeare and the 2010 film The Social Network directed by David Fincher are conclusive in portraying and analysing a significant outsider or group of outsiders through literary and cinematic devices, which enrich my understanding of this concept, later used to my benefit, demonstrated through my visual representation. Written by the famous English playwright William Shakespeare circa 1603, Othello explores the idea of ‘The Outsider’ through the two significant notions that enriched my understanding – insecurities and physical appearances, both of which are used to advantage and disadvantage the characters in the play. Othello is immediately introduced as the titular black general and the Moor of Venice, who has overcome racial prejudice to hold a renowned position in society and a marriage to a beautiful young woman, Desdemona, the senator’s daughter. The metaphor in the line, â€Å"†¦ an old black ram is tupping at your white ewe†¦ † indicates a sense of hostility that the other members of society have against Othello, using physical appearance and racist slurs to downplay the general, the majority of these comments being made by Iago, Othello’s advisor. Iago could be seen as an outsider in the play, but uses this characteristic to his advantage, being desperate for power and authority; he raises Othello’s suspicions about his wife’s fidelity. Iago is also known for foreshadowing events, as seen in the personification used in the line, â€Å"O beware, my lord, of jealousy; it is the green-eyed monster which doth mock the meat it feeds on†¦ † indicative of Othello’s future actions in the play. Othello, oblivious to Iago’s exploitations, undermines himself- an insecurity- seen in the pitiful tone, â€Å"Haply for I am black, and have not those soft parts of conversation that chamberers have†¦ † evident of his lack of self worth and vulnerability to issues relevant to his colour or race, enhancing my comprehension of The Outsider. The 2010 American film The Social Network- written by Aaron Sorkin and directed by David Fincher, strongly delves into the concept and deepens my understanding of the Outsider from the beginning. The protagonist, Mark Zuckerberg, like Othello, is instantly presented as a character who does not wish to interact with society directly and uses social networking to express his opinions, thereby the invention of Facebook. The lighting throughout the movie is an example of the many cinematic devices that are effective in demonstrating the different societal groups. As an individual, the dim lighting on Mark, in contrast to the bright lighting on the others in his group is indicative of Mark being an outsider, even within his own group. Also, the repetition of the word ‘asshole’ in several situations in the film is suggestive of how similar Mark’s character is to Othello’s – he allows himself to be looked down on. Erica Albright, Mark’s ex- girlfriend says at the start of the film, â€Å"†¦It’ll be because you’re an asshole,† and this is contrasted when Marilyn Derpy, the psychiatric nurse has her final statement at the end of the film, â€Å"You’re not an asshole, Mark. You’re just trying so hard to be. † Albright’s vindictive tone is representative of how an outsider can be portrayed when he or she is put down by others, further supported by Derpy’s somewhat sympathetic yet wary tone. Mark’s tolerance of being exploited further enhances my knowledge of the concept of the Outsider, especially through the characters that manipulate him the most – the biggest of these being Sean Parker, the founder of Napster and the first president of Facebook. Sean’s character is much similar to Iago’s, as he is as much as an outsider as he is an insider. The repetition of ‘cool’ as Sean defiantly says to Mark, â€Å"A million dollars isn’t cool. You know what’s cool? A billion dollars,† shows how using such simple socially acceptable terms can influence a person’s decisions, especially characters like Mark, whose insecurities play a massive role in creating the atmosphere of ‘The Outsider’. My visual representation is an amalgamation of the perceptions of the Outsider that I derived from analysis of Othello and The Social Network. Using the same template as the given image, I drew the figure and his surroundings on the inside of the room in black and white, also giving prominence to the central figure, outlining ‘him’ in a darker colour in contrast to the chair he is sitting on. The personage is looking outside, into a colourful world, of which I have used many different colours to show the difference between the inside world and the outside world. As in Othello, colour plays a major role in distinguishing between outsiders and insiders. Using colour, I represented the character to be the salient black and white figure in a black and white environment, but this is merely the ‘inside world’. I have chosen the persona’s gaze to lead the viewer to focus on the colourful outside world, demonstrating the differences between the inside world and the outside world. The individual is recognised as an outsider, not only in his own micro world, but in his larger macro world. Therefore, the conceptualisation of ‘The Outsider’ has been enforced through cinematic and literary devices used in the texts Othello by William Shakespeare, through the notions of colour and physical appearances and The Social Network directed by David Fincher, which reiterates how manipulation and downplay of colour and physical appearances can lead to being in a solitary state as an individual. My visual representation incorporates these ideas into a single ideology, evidence of how these texts have enriched my understanding of ‘The Outsider’.

Why Thanksgiving Dinner Makes You So Sleepy

Why Thanksgiving Dinner Makes You So Sleepy Does a big turkey dinner make you sleepy? Unless a microwave dinner is your idea of a Thanksgiving feast, you probably have had firsthand experience with the after-dinner fatigue that sets in after the meal. Why do you want a nap? To escape the dishes? Perhaps, but the meal itself plays a big part in the way you feel. L-Tryptophan and Turkey The turkey is often cited as the culprit in after-dinner lethargy, but the truth is that you could omit the bird altogether and still feel the effects of the feast. Turkey does contain L-tryptophan, an essential amino acid with a documented sleep inducing effect. L-tryptophan is used in the body to produce the B-vitamin, niacin. Tryptophan also can be metabolized into serotonin and melatonin, neurotransmitters that exert a calming effect and regulates sleep. However, L-tryptophan needs to be taken on an empty stomach and without any other amino acids or protein in order to make you drowsy. Theres lots of protein in a serving of turkey and its probably not the only food on the table. Its worth noting that other foods contain as much or more tryptophan than turkey (0.333 g of tryptophan per 100-gram edible portion), including chicken (0.292 g of tryptophan per 100-gram edible portion), pork, and cheese. As with turkey, other amino acids are present in these foods besides tryptophan, so they dont make you sleepy. L-Tryptophan and Carbohydrates L-tryptophan may be found in turkey and other dietary proteins, but its actually a carbohydrate-rich (as opposed to protein-rich) meal that increases the level of this amino acid in the brain and leads to serotonin synthesis. Carbohydrates stimulate the pancreas to secrete insulin. When this occurs, some amino acids that compete with tryptophan leave the bloodstream and enter muscle cells. This causes an increase in the relative concentration of tryptophan in the bloodstream. Serotonin is synthesized and you feel that familiar sleepy feeling. Fats Fats slow down the digestive system, giving Thanksgiving dinner plenty of time to take effect. Fats also take a lot of energy to digest, so the body will redirect blood to your digestive system to tackle the job. Since you have less blood flow elsewhere, you will feel less energetic after eating a meal rich in fats. Alcohol Alcohol is a central nervous system depressant. If alcoholic beverages are part of the holiday celebration, then they will add to the nap-factor. Overeating It takes a great deal of energy to digest a large meal. When your stomach is full, blood is directed away from other organ systems, including your nervous system. The result? You will feel the need to snooze after any big meal, particularly if it is high in fats and carbohydrates. Relaxation Although many people find the holidays stressful, the most relaxing part of the festivities is likely to be the meal. No matter what you may have been doing throughout the day, Thanksgiving dinner provides an opportunity to sit back and relax a feeling that can carry over after the meal. So, why are you sleepy after a big turkey dinner? Its a combination of the type of food, amount of food, and celebratory atmosphere. Happy Thanksgiving!

Nwankpa & Roumani (2014) mentioned that companies are mainly able to generate high revenue by incorporating online sales, which increases its customer reach. Moreover, after the evaluation of business processes certain challenges, which the company might face could be i dentified. In addition, effective use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) could be utilised by Disk4U for supporting the current change in business environment. Kilic, Zaim & Delen (2014) argued that high end ERP system could reduce the smooth functioning of the business, which in turn reduce its overall profitability. The changing business requirement could effectively help in improving of Disk4U could mainly need an effective ERP system, which could support its accosting needs. The use of online platform could increase the overall needs of an effective accounting system, which might comprehend the change in inventory. Effective monitoring is mainly needed on stock level, financial performance, and supplier quotation, which might be used in new business operations. Chou, et al., (2014) stated that companies to improve the overall performance by implying effective online system mainly use ERP system. On the contrary, Nwankpa (2015) argued that ERP system mainly loses its friction if adequate analysis is mainly not conducted to identify the accurate requirements of the company. The increased accumulation of data, which is mainly provided by the online platform, is satisfied by the ERP system. In addition, ERP system could automatically identify the overall need of inventory and contact the supplier for replenishing the stock. The adequate flow of orders could effectively be comprehended by an ERP system, which could help in flowing adequate information to relative participants (Becker, Kugeler & Rosemann, 2013). Furthermore, implementation of the overall advanced ERP system could effectively help Disk4U for improving its operational ability. Kilic, Zaim & Delen (2015) mentioned that due to technological advancements incorporation of ERP system in mobile device mainly easy the flow of information. Furthermore, the use of cloud ERP system could also be effective for Disk4U to reduce the problem of data loss. In addition, the incorporation of both mobile and cloud ERP system could help the company in improving its productivity and accounting system. Furthermore, incorporation of Social ERP system could also help the company in making a social presence, which might attract potential investors. Shukla et al., (2016) argued that high costs incurred in ERP implementation mainly reduces the overall cash balance of companies and hamper its ability to make any new investments. Table 1: Depicting the costing of three different ERP system From the overall evaluation of different ERP system, Accountmate ERP per year could be used as an effective system, which might be cost effective. In addition, other ERP system is mainly costly and might increases expenses of Disk4U. Jinno, Abe & Iizuka (2017) mentioned that use of effectively ERP system is essential for companies to increase their efficiency and information flow. From the case study, it was gathered that AIS or the ERP systems could facilitate the employees of Disk4U in realizing their issues and offering specific solutions (Antero, 2015). It was also realized from the analysis of the case study of Disk4U, that the organization is dealing with problems that requires being decreased through appropriate implementation of information systems. This is also because of the reason that the smooth business operation of the company is ensured (Arvidsson, Holmstrà ¶m & Lyytinen, 2014). Implementation of ERP systems will make sure of the company several effective business processes, preparing business requirements along with deciding the software and vendor selection. The case study is dealing with the concerns specifically for the identified issues experienced by Disk4U. The Disk4U Company intends to reconstruct the business operations through adopting Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) that is required for effective Business Process Management (BPM) (Bansal, 2013). Identifying suitable software and vendor for Disk4U will help in analyzing the current state of business operation affairs and realization of the areas those requires improvement. Implementation of suitable software and vendor in the company will also support in obtaining increased understanding concerning ways that can be adopted for the betterment of overall business operations of Disk4U (Becker, Kugeler & Rosemann, 2013). Management of the Disk4U Company might consider several business operations in order to ensure efficient data structure, networks, mobile computations, algorithms along with optimization of business process along with scheduling process (Bernroider & Mitlohner, 2015). Along with considering the ERP implementation of the system of business process management along with appropriate design of network, the management of the company can make sure of implementation regarding the integration of Application Programming Interface (API). (Bradford, 2015) discovered the fact that implementation of the Application Programming Interface (API) software will signify allowance along with several business processes in order to deliver programs that is aligned with different programs. Additionally, if Disk4U Company considers the implementation of software-to-software interface, it can facilitate ample vendors to communicate with each other devoid of having any previous understanding or intervention. For instance, ample online channels associated with functions can support the process utilization of integration of API software (Chang, 2016). This can further facilitate the process of entering the accurate information in support of credit cards along with application of API for transferring vital information to a distinct isolated application in order to verify provided information. The â€Å"Business Process Management† set can be employed for viewing at different areas of the upcoming analysis techniques (Dumas et al., 2013). In addition, the design of support process facilitates in delivering support for vital activities employed by numerous resources along with the infrastructure in a specific format. This can be deemed as a vital differentiator that considers several primaries along with support techniques for the development of direct value with regard to target consumers in the situation of major processes (Falkenberg, Hesse & Olivà ©, 2016). Certain examples of support services include relevant information technology management along with effective human resource management as well as infrastructure management. Conversely, the processes of support services majorly include cross-functional limits along with the evaluation in the future years. For this reason, it is included in the managerial capability processes along with the direction of value offered to customers in supporting the total capability of the company (Seethamraju, 2015). This can facilitate efficient offering of products along with th e company’s services. The business process management can take into account implementation of software tools those can be employed in order to deal with major business issues of Disk4U Company. Conversely, this also has a considerable role within business process management that has a difference between the flows of work along with the software of Business Process Management (Jain & Sharma, 2016). This can facilitate the automation of work with unaffected process improvement in a better manner. In addition to that, the management of Disk4U Company can also consider the process of advanced technology implementation for the production business operations. This focuses on implementation of advanced systems to deal with product data, automatic process of planning, manufacturing, execution, and scheduling (Savage, Kautz & Clarke, 2016). Moreover, the company production and marketing products can adopt mechanized process of production, scheduling, planning along with implementation. Additionally, the production and marketing products of the company can adopt mechanized technique of data gathering, Compliance administration, lean manufacturing, and planning, scheduling, total quality management along with management of product life cycle (Esteves, 2014). Therefore, it might be ascertained that the functions of business process have entered within a new stage of rapidly tracked transformation to mature along with improved technologies. The cloud based and mobile applications in addition to progressive analytics with collaboration processes can increase the impacts of properly understood functioning model levers such as shared services, global delivery system, and outsourcing as re-engineering process (Rodrigues et al., 2016). Moreover, the application along with the impact of innovative technologies might not be at a great level. Additionally, it is deemed vital to realize certain technology interventions as well as process re-engineering in consideration to organizational re-design. This includes shared services along with business process outsourcing that is combined within the International Business Service (Altamony et al., 2016). The aforementioned process cab directs the business concerns in focusing on the scarce resources that can finally affect the vital business findings. Such process also supports the process of decrease of intricacies of several distinct processes, which significantly encompass various cross-disciplinary squads (Erturk & Arora, 2017). This team can consider it quite difficult in struggling in order to observe conjoint ground along with language. Conversely, the ability to identify various levels for pulling is not increased and relies on experience collected by transformation, designing and functioning business conducts. The most effective tactic can be to identify partners that can have the capability to manage expenditure along with research on consumption. This can finally also result in risk of losing the momentum along with time in a fierce competitive surrounding (Esteves, 2014). Identifying suitable software and vendor for Disk4U Company will help in analyzing the current state of business operation affairs and realization of the areas those requires improvement. Implementation of ERP systems will make sure of the company several effective business processes, preparing business requirements along with deciding the software and vendor selection (Arvidsson, Holmstrà ¶m & Lyytinen, 2014). Net suite, Account mate and Sage 300 are the three most user-friendly and effective ERP software that can be used by the company. However, Account-mate is considered as the best Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software to be implemented by Disk4U Company because of several advantages that this software can offer to the company (Becker, Kugeler & Rosemann, 2013). The advantages that this ERP software implementation can provide to the company are it comes in lowest price, supports multicurrency, effective document management, and superior expense management, or reporting, ef fective LIFO and FIFO process, effective Point-of-Sale option, and integrates with the important business process reports (Bansal, 2013). Moreover, Account-mate ERP software cal also facilitate the company to attain certain benefits associated with its use such as, it integrates with F9, effectively managers sales and tax use, enables effective human resources, consumer relationship management (CRM) and project management (PM). Account-mate ERP software is the most suitable software for Disk4U Company as it facilitates enhanced materials requirement processing (MRP), Supply Chain Management (SCM) and business intelligence (BI) (Dumas et al., 2013). Account-mate ERP software has certain advantageous features such as it is non-profit version along with vertical warehousing, construction and distribution (Frankenberg, Hesse & Olivà ©, 2016). This ERP software can solve the issues faced by Disk4U Company in its business operations though facilitating superior transaction drill down and exceptional â€Å"audit trial report† ability. This software also provides with beneficial features of increased online training and supports functionality along with allowing cut and paste transactions from the spreadsheet of Microsoft excel (Arvidsson, Holmstrà ¶m & Lyytinen, 2014). However, Disk4U Company must also manage few cons associated with implementation of Account-mate ERP software in order to obtain best business operation process advantages from it. These disadvantages include lack of "business process flowchart" navigation, no point-of-sale (POS), or human resource (HR) modules for implementations of ERP. Certain drawbacks of t he ERP software also include limited charting and graphics (Bernroider & Mitlohner, 2015). After implementing Account-mate ERP software for managing its business operations effectively, it must configure the task shortcuts from scratch as no template exists in this ERP software along with no proper dashboards. Implementation of Account-Mate ERP software can support the company’s back-office operations along with financial business processes that encompass inventory, accounting, supply chain, order management, as well as business intelligence (BI). Implementation of this software wholesale distributor is available in several countries that reach out to the new markets and consumer segments through online medium along with decreasing person-to-person administrative expenses (Falkenberg, Hesse & Olivà ©, 2016). Account-Mate ERP Software has self-service vendor centre in which the company offers its self-owned vendors with great access to information that is important to the company’s partnership that encompass purchase orders, data of accounts payable along with major other documents. Account-Mate ERP Software established an international partner network. Purchase and implementation of the software is offered on an on-demand subscription-based service through the web. Moreover, purchase of the software through self-service vendor centre considers no hardware to procure, no high up-front license charges or extremely difficult set-ups (Arvidsson, Holmstrà ¶m & Lyytinen, 2014). With Account-Mate ERP Software’s unified platform, distributors and manufacturers streamline and automate all the major business processes of a company that includes from purchasing the software and manufacturing through to order to cash, fulfillment, multichannel commerce along with effective consumer service that is devoid of complexity and expenses on on-spot IT systems. The overall report mainly included an effective evaluation of the overall ERP system, which could help Disk4U to support their changing business environment. In addition, the study effectively evaluates the case study and identifies the overall requirements of Disk4U. The company mainly requires depicting the overall latest technologies, which could be used in improving the current accounting system for supporting the online presence in EBay. Moreover, the company has been using manual accounting process, which was effective for supporting the small business operations conducted within a region. However, the adoption of online sales from EBay platform is effective in improving the current sales of the company. Henry inquiry into taxation and the report recommendation Essay - 1

Henry inquiry into taxation and the report recommendation - Essay Example Other areas of possible taxation concern so-called â€Å"social sins† such as tobacco or alcohol, environmental charges etc (Thompson et al, 2010). In other words, destroying human practices should be taxed. The Australian government does not accept the Report to the fullest extent. It claims that many points of a new taxation project should be reviewed otherwise â€Å"it will not implement †¦ at any stage† (Thompson et al, 2010). The government agrees upon some recommendations of Henry Report, but introduces its own corrections. For example, to reduce company tax from 30 to 29 per cent, but not to 25 per cent, as it is suggested in Henry Report. From this point of view, it is possible to claim that Labor Party has suggested more radical measures to be taken by the government in the sphere of taxation and the government suggests more consequential introduction of taxation reform. The most challenging recommendation of Henry Report is the RSPT or tax on resources. Currently, as it is suggested by the Report, there is a need to suggest a more effective means of raising revenue. Profits above normal return on the capital invested will be introduced in July 2012. Still, the government does not seem to acclaim this recommendation as it does not seem doubtlessly relevant to them. In accordance with Henry Report, â€Å"the benefits of including them [some non-renewables] under the RSPT are unlikely to outweigh the costs (compliance and administration)† (Henry Taxation Review, 2011). Henry Report is an innovative vision on Australian taxation appealing for swift and radical changes for Australia. Some points were approved by the Australian government with some corrections. Basically, there are beneficial social, economical and environmental implications in this taxation reform. On the one hand, Labor Party is on the right innovative way of Australian taxation system change and makes an attempt to increase benefits for the
